Dayna J. LePlatte, MD is a board-certified Child, Adolescent and Adult Psychiatrist. She joins Grove with almost 20 years of experience and a passion to truly make a difference in the lives of her clients. Dr. LePlatte is skilled at working with children ages 5+ and adolescents, as well as emerging adults and adults throughout the lifespan.
She has a special interest in working with individuals navigating through Mood Disorders, Anxiety, Postpartum Depression (PPD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Trauma. Dr. LePlatte is making the transition from academia into private practice. She continues to be an adjunct clinical assistant professor at Michigan Medicine and she continues to be very passionate about teaching, mentoring, and research. However, her current focus is her private practice at Grove.
Dr. LePlatte is dedicated to providing an individualized, comprehensive, and thorough evaluation/treatment plan. She uses an empathetic, non-judgemental, holistic approach and always aims to build a connection with clients that is based on collaboration and compassion. She believes in creating a safe and supportive environment for her clients. She aims to empower and support her patients on their journey to emotional wellness and achievement.
Dr. LePlatte joined the faculty at the University Of Michigan School Of Medicine in 2014. Over the years she has worn many hats and was involved in several clinical settings including the Crisis Support Clinic, ADHD Clinic, Student Athlete Clinic, General Child/Adolescent Psychiatry Outpatient Clinic, psychiatric emergency services, inpatient unit, and the Collaborative Care community.
She values the experiences she gained in each of these unique settings. Throughout her medical career, Dr. LePlatte has continued to volunteer and mentor learners at all levels. She is an active member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP) and she was recently inducted as a Distinguished Fellow of AACAP. She is a fellow of the American Psychiatric Society. Also, she is a member of the House of Delegates for the National Medical Association.
Dayna was born in Detroit, Michigan. She graduated Summa Cum laude from West Bloomfield High School. She graduated with Honors from the University of Michigan. She went to Wayne State Univeristy of School of Medicine for medical school where she discovered her enthusiasm for the field of Psychiatry. She returned to Ann Arbor for residency, fellowship and then stayed there as a faculty member for ten years.
