A West Michigan native, Emily attended Grand Valley State University to receive her BBA in Marketing from the Seidman College of Business at GVSU. After receiving her degree, she moved to Detroit to work in Advertising and pursue her Masters of Education in Art Therapy at Wayne State University. Emily graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Masters of Education Art Therapy program at Wayne State University in 2020 and was also selected as the program receipient for the Graduate Professional Scholarship recognizing high academic honor, leadership and balancing her professional career.
She worked as a Senior Clinical Trial Research Coordinator and Rater for over 5 years at a Private Mental Health Practice in Rochester, Michigan. She has experience conducting over 75 Adult and Pediatric CNS Clinical Trials including: Major Depression Disorder, Treatment-Resistant Depression, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Binge Eating Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, and DSM-V Personality Disorders.
She is a qualified clinician to administer a range of assessments and scales of DSM-V diagnoses. She also has experience facilitating Art Therapy with groups and individuals both in-person and virtually. She currently works as the Artist in Residence Art Therapist at St. John's Van Elslander Cancer Center in Grosse Pointe working with individuals doing art therapy with patients receiving chemotherapy and infusion treatments. She also has worked with a range of adolescents and adults including Veterans at The Grosse Pointe War Memorial, Adults with Anxiety and Low Self-Esteem and students with Cognitive Impairments and Learning Disabilities at Grosse Pointe South High school.
Emily is currently working towards pursuing her Registered-Art Therapy licensure in the state of Michigan. She is thrilled to use her experience in Mental Health and years in Private Practice to support and guide Grove's Core Foundations and Philosophies to provide therapeutic services in the Greater Ann Arbor Community.
